What is a BArch or Architecture ?

BArch or Architecture, is a 5 year architecture course. NTA  (National Testing Agency) conducts the JEE Main Paper II to offer BArch Admission 2023.Bachelor of Architecture (B. Arch) is a well-known undergraduate architecture bachelor’s degree curriculum. The art of planning, creating, and constructing buildings and other physical structures is known as architecture. Maharashtra First Year B. Arch or Architecture Admission 2023-24 is done on the basis of an Entrance Exam. Maharashtra First Year B. Arch or Architecture Admission is conducted in online mode by the DTE- Directorate of Technical Education, Maharashtra. Candidates seeking Maharashtra First Year B. Arch or Architecture Admission 2023 must appear either the JEE Main Paper 2 or the NATA.  The COA (Council of Architecture) conducts the NATA exam thrice every year. NATA will be conducted to offer Maharashtra BArch or Architecture Admission 2023 in topmost architecture colleges of India in the month of April, June, and July 2023. Two sessions conducted for JEE Main Paper.

DTE First Year BArch or Architecture Admission :

The Commissioner of State Common Entrance Test Cell is the Competent Authority of Maharashtra State, and conducts the Centralized Admission Process (CAP) and shall direct the students regarding rules and regulations of admission, eligibility, CAP rounds, documents required, merit list, allotment of institute. The Commissioner of State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra State displays the cut-off list for all CAP Round I, II, III. All the decisions taken in relation to Admission to First/ Direct Second Year of Full Time Professional Undergraduate Pharmacy Course, by the Competent Authority shall be final and binding on all concerned institutions and students. The Competent Authority, the Commissioner of State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra State publish a notice for Online Registration, Scanning & uploading of documents, document verification and Application Form Confirmation at Facilitation Centers (FC), Filling and confirmation of Option Form Self ARC for confirmation of admission, reporting to institute by Candidates aspiring for admission for 5 years Full Time Under Graduate Courses in BArch or Architecture on its official web portal. First Year BArch or Architecture admission process is conducted in online mode. Maharashtra First Year BArch or Architecture Admission Eligibility Criteria 2023-24

Who are eligible for First Year BArch or Architecture admission?

  • Candidates passing HSC and Diploma in Architecture from a recognised institution in Maharashtra State.
  • Candidate who is either Domicile of Maharashtra and/or is born in Maharashtra.
  • The candidate needs to qualify an aptitude test in architecture conducted either by NTA (i.e. JEE) or NATA conducted by the Council of Architecture.

Various types of candidature eligible admission to First Year BArch or Architecture are given below:

Three types of candidature are eligible for admission to first year BArch or Architecture are given below:

  1. Maharashtra State Candidates
  2. All India Candidates (AI), Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir and Union Territory of Ladakh Migrant Candidates
  3. NRI/OCI/PIO, Children of Indian workers in Gulf Countries (CIWGC), Foreign National (FN) Candidates

Maharashtra State Candidates and All India Candidature Candidates :

(i) The candidate should be an Indian National.
(ii) Passed HSC or 10+2 scheme of examination with at least 50 % (at least 45% for candidates from
Reserved Categories, Economically Weaker Section and Persons with Disability candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only) aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and also at least 50 % (at least 45% for candidates from Reserved Categories, Economically Weaker Section and Persons with Disability candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only) marks in aggregate of the 10+2 level Examination;

OR

(ii) The candidate should have passed 10+3 Diploma Examination with Mathematics as compulsory subject with at least 50 % marks (at least 45% for candidates from Reserved Categories, Economically Weaker Section and Persons with Disability candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only) in aggregate

(iii)The candidate needs to qualify an aptitude test in architecture conducted either by NTA (i.e. JEE) or NATA conducted by the Council of Architecture.


NRI / OCI / PIO, Children of Indian workers in the Gulf countries, Foreign National :

  • Passed HSC or 10+2 scheme of examination with at least 50 % aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and also at least 50 % marks in aggregate of the 10+2 level Examination;
  • OR
  • The candidate should have passed 10+3 Diploma Examination with Mathematics as compulsory subject with at least 50 % marks in aggregate

Type E (a) For First year,-
Candidates passing SSC and/or HSC Examination or Diploma in Engineering or D.Voc. from a recognized institution located in Maharashtra Karnataka Border area or from Maharashtra, residing in the Maharashtra Karnataka Border area and whose mother tongue is Marathi;
Candidate shall be considered for the Outside Home University or State Level Seats.
  • All India Candidature – The Candidates having Indian Nationality are eligible under this Category.
  • Minority Candidature – The Maharashtra domiciled Candidate belonging to a particular Linguistic or Religious Minority Community from within the State and as notified by the Government are eligible under this Category.
  • NRI Candidature – The Candidates who fulfils the conditions of Non Resident of India are eligible under this Category.
  • Foreign Student or OCI or PIO Candidature –The Foreign Student Candidates are of type the Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) candidate, and Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) are eligible under this Category.
  • Jammu and Kashmir & Ladakh Migrant Candidature

Online Registration fees for First Year BArch or Architecture Admission:

  • The candidates should apply online on www.mahacet.org as per schedule.
  • Candidates who have registered for MHT-CET 2023 are not required to pay any fee for registration for admission. However other candidates who have obtained score which is valid for admission in academic year 2023-24 in JEE (Main) and have not registered for MHT-CET 2023 are required to pay fee as given below only by Credit Card/ Debit Card/Net Banking etc. through Online mode. Fees paid is non-refundable. (No other mode of payment shall be permitted.)

Cut off date for the eligibility The eligibility of the candidate shall be determined and/or decided for all purposes including for applicability of all these Rules and Regulations by
considering the last date of submission of Online Application form for CAP as the cut off date. Reservation for First Year BArch or Architecture | Direct Second Year BArch or Architecture Admission 2023-24 :

All the reservations given below shall be applicable to candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only who will fulfil of the eligibility criteria specified by respective authorities from time to time.

Reservation for Socially, Educationally & Economically Backward Class Candidates:

The percentage of seats reserved for candidates of backward class categories belonging to Maharashtra State is as given in table below . The percentage of reservation is the percentages of the seats available for Maharashtra candidates, coming under the CAP. Backward class candidates shall claim the category to which they belong to at the time of submission of application form for CAP. Reservation will be allocated to the student if he is able to produce the required documents at the time of CAP and scholarship will be made available to the candidate who claim reservation are admitted to the institutions through centralized admission process (CAP). Otherwise they will not be eligible to claim scholarship.

How to fill DTE Maharashtra First Year BArch or Architecture Online Application ?

  • Online Registration – Candidates have to visit the official website https://arch2022.mahacet.org.in/cet2022/arch22/ and by clicking on “New Registration” register by using their valid email ID and password.
  • Fill Application Form with provide personal, academic, communication. Etc details in the online application.
  • Uploading Documents – After providing necessary information, candidates have to upload the required documents in the format as prescribed by the authorities.  
  • Application Fee – After uploading all the required documents, candidates have to pay the application fee in online mode.
  • Document Verification –For document verification the facility of e-Scrutiny and the Physical Scrutiny of the documents is made available for student.   • Provisional and Final Merit List :All the eligible Candidates who have submitted Application Form on or before the last date specified for the submission of Application Form for Admission through CAP shall be assigned a merit number. The merit list shall be prepared on the basis of marks obtained at qualifying examination. Candidates may update their online application form during the Grievance Period, after which the provisional merit list will be updated. Afterward, the final merit list will be shown.
  • Display of Category-wise Seats (Seat Matrix) available for each CAP Rounds: DTE publish information on the website about institutes, courses offered, Sanctioned intake and number of seats available for each category before each round.
  • Centralized Admission Process (CAP) Round: CAP Round I, II and III shall be conducted by computerized allotment. Filling up and Confirmation of Online Option Form through candidate login and give preferences of Courses and Institutions prior to respective CAP Rounds . Candidates should confirm the online option form. The candidate can fill in minimum 1 and maximum 300 options.
  • Confirmation of Option Form : It is mandatory for all candidates to confirm the online option form. After confirmation of Option form, the candidate will not be able to change the Options.
  • Provisional Merit List : Display of Provisional Allotment of respective CAP Rounds indicating allotted institute and Course.
  • Seat Acceptance : Reporting and accepting the offered seat at Admission Reporting Centre by the Candidate as per the schedule.
  • Conduct of CAP Round-II and III-The seats available for Round II and III shall be published on the website. The Candidates eligible for round II and III are allowed to fill in and/or edit online option form filled in by the candidate for the previous round. From the stage of showing the seat matrix to the step of accepting the seats, the same procedure will be used for conduct of CAP II and CAP III.

During the CAP the seat may be Freeze, Betterment or Seat Acceptance

  • Freeze- 1. If a candidate allotted the seat according to his first preference, the selection will be automatically freeze, and the applicant must accept the selection. Such a candidate will thereafter be ineligible to take part in the following CAP rounds. 2. Candidates who have been awarded a seat that is not their first preference and who are content with this allotment and do not intend to participate in additional CAP rounds may use the candidate’s login to freeze the offered seat.
  • Betterment : Candidates who have been given a seat other than their first preference and accepted the seat are entitled for betterment to participate in the future rounds for improvement;
  • Candidates who were given seats other than their first preference but did not accept them are still allowed to compete in the subsequent CAP rounds;
  • Acceptance: Reporting and accepting the offered seat at Admission Reporting Centre by the Candidate as per the schedule. A Candidate who has been allotted a seat shall download the “Provisional Seat Allotment Letter” from his login and shall pay the seat acceptance fee shall be Rs. 1000/- which is non-refundable.

Which students are eligible for CAP round II and III ?

  • Candidates who accepted the allotted seat and opt for betterment.
  • Candidates who were given seats other than their first preference but did not accept them.
  • Candidates who have not been allotted any seat in any of the previous round.
  • Candidates who did not participate (failure of filling option form) in previous round.

Admissions to First Year BArch or Architecture at Institutional Quota and vacant seats after CAP:

The candidates aspiring for admission for Institutional Quota, seats remaining vacant after CAP, it is Mandatory to get registered, documents verified and confirmation of application by E-Scrutiny center or Physical Scrutiny Center Such candidates must apply separately to Institutes for admissions to seats other than CAP Seats. Merit of such candidates shall be prepared by the Institute at the institute level. The institution publish advertisement on their website regarding invitation of applications and announce the admissions timetable and the number of seats in each course that are vacant after CAP rounds. the aspiring candidate may visit and submit the application to the colleges for admission at institute level quota. Preparation of Merit List for First Year BArch or Architecture Admission 2023-24 :

All the eligible Candidates who have participated in CAP and submitted Online Application Form on or before the last date shall be assigned a merit number.

The merit list for the all Candidates shall be prepared on the basis of marks or score secured by the Candidate in the CET conducted by the Competent Authority or marks or score secured in any other examination conducted by the concerned appropriate authority and in the manner by giving 50%
weightage to CET Score and 50% weightage to HSC aggregate Marks for the purpose of admission to First Year BArch or Architecture Courses.
Provided that, in case of tie, the relative merit of different Candidatures shall be resolved in the following order of preference and the methodology as specified below, –
(a) higher marks in CET;
(b) higher percentage of marks in Mathematics at SSC;
(c) higher percentage of aggregate marks in SSC.

What is BArch or Architecture?

BArch or Architecture is a 5 year architecture course. NTA  (National Testing Agency) conducts the JEE Main Paper II to offer BArch Admission 2023.Bachelor of Architecture (B. Arch) is a well-known undergraduate architecture bachelor’s degree curriculum. The art of planning, creating, and constructing buildings and other physical structures is known as architecture. Maharashtra First Year B. Arch or Architecture Admission 2023-24 is done on the basis of an Entrance Exam. Maharashtra First Year B. Arch or Architecture Admission is conducted in online mode by the DTE- Directorate of Technical Education, Maharashtra. Candidates seeking Maharashtra First Year B. Arch or Architecture Admission 2023 must appear either the JEE Main Paper 2 or the NATA.  The COA (Council of Architecture) conducts the NATA exam thrice every year. NATA will be conducted to offer Maharashtra BArch or Architecture Admission 2023 in topmost architecture colleges of India in the month of April, June, and July 2023.
