How does Centralized Admission Process Work?

Centralized admission process allocates students to individual colleges. Student needs to report to their allocated college to confirm/ cancel admission allotted in the respective rounds. College admin should be able to login to the system to see the list of admitted / to cancel / Reject students allocated to the respective college.

Who conducts the Centralized Admission Process (CAP) in Maharashtra?

The Centralized Admission Process (CAP) will be conducted by a competent authority appointed by the Government of Maharashtra. Government of Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test Cell. The candidate should be admitted through the Centralized Admission Process (CAP) / at the institute level.

How is cap conducted in Maharashtra?

The CAP shall consist of the first three (3) rounds by Centralized allotment, wherein eligible candidates will fill out separate Online Option forms for the respective rounds. The fourth round of CAP shall be conducted by way of counseling only for eligible Maharashtra State candidates.

How do I participate in the Centralized Admission Process?

In order to participate in the Centralized Admission Process (subject to fulfillment of the eligibility criteria of the respective CAP round), it is MANDATORY to fill out the Online Option Form for the respective CAP Round. Candidates will be able to fill out the online option form through their login on the website.

How a student grievance can be resolved in a centralized admission system?

Grievances can be resolved in the centralized admission system to correct information and resolve errors associated with admission data, merit lists, etc. A quick resolution of student grievances can fast-track the overall admission process and be completed within stipulated deadline

Are all CAP seats available for allotment in subsequent CAP rounds? 

All such seats, on which the candidates have confirmed the admission on or before the last date of reporting of CAP Round‐I, shall not be available for allotment in subsequent CAP rounds. • There shall be three rounds of direct allotment of CAP for All India candidates.

What is E-Scrutiny and E-Scrutiny Mode?

Centralized admission process (CAP) , two types of Documents verification and confirmation of the application form, i.e. 1. Online mode, also called e-scrutiny E-Scrutiny Mode
2. Physical Mode.
Process for E-Scrutiny Mode selected candidates:
1. The candidate shall fill out the online application form, scan the original document, and upload the required documents.
2. Such candidates need not visit the E-Scrutiny Center for verification and confirmation of the application form. Such applications and documents shall be verified and confirmed by the E-Scrutiny Center through E-Scrutiny mode.
3. During E-Scrutiny of the application form of such a candidate:
If no error is found: the status of verification and confirmation of the application form shall be available in the candidate’s login along with the receipt and Acknowledgement.
If error is found: the details of the error shall be intimated to candidates by reverting back his/her Application for its rectification through candidates Login. The candidate shall edit the reverted Application form and re-submit the application for e-Scrutiny through his/her login Candidate shall edit the reverted Application in given schedule e-Scrutiny through his/her login.

What is Physical Scrutiny ?

In Centralized admission process (CAP) , two types of Documents verification and confirmation of Application Form i.e. 1. Online mode, also called as E-Scrutiny Mode
2. Physical Mode.
Candidates who has selected Physical Scrutiny Mode shall visit the Physical Scrutiny Center or FC or Facilitation Center online selected by themself, along with the required documents as per the allotted time slot for online filling, scanning & uploading of required documents, verification and confirmation of
application form.

What is the process to handle grievances in CAP?

After display of Provisional Merit List the Candidates shall submit the grievances if any . Candidate shall raise the Grievance about correction required in the data displayed in provisional merit list through his/her Login. The application of such candidates shall be reverted back to the candidate in his/her Login for rectification.
Candidate shall upload the requisite documents to substantiate the claim for any correction/concession. The status of acceptance/rejection of Grievance raised by candidate shall be available in candidates Login along with latest receipt cum Acknowledgement.
Those Candidate who selected physical scrutiny mode shall visit SC for resolving the grievances.

What is the process of Seat Acceptance?

Accepting to the offered seat by candidate through his/her login as per Allotment of CAP Round I.
a)The candidate shall self-verify the seat allotment made to him/her in the CAP Round I by accepting declaration through his/her login and certifying that his/her claim related with qualifying marks, category, gender, reservation, specific reservation etc. made by candidate in the application form are correct and relevant documents uploaded to substantiate his/her claims are authentic and correct.
b) If candidate found the claim made by him is not correct and he/she wants to the correct the error, (error as per the clause (e) of sub rule (4) of rule 9 given in information brochure) The candidate shall report the grievance through his/her login by online mode only.
c) Candidates who have been allotted the seat as per their first preference in Round I (auto freezed) shall pay the seat acceptance fee by online mode through their login and Such candidates shall not be eligible for participation in subsequent Rounds.
d) Candidates who have allotted other than first preference and self freezed their allotment in Round I through their login must accept the seat and shall pay seat acceptance fees through online mode. Such candidates shall not be eligible for participation in subsequent Rounds. [Candidate must exercise this option carefully]e) Candidates who have allotted other than first preference and want betterment in the subsequent rounds must claim the allotted seat in Round I by accepting that seat by choosing Not Freeze option for betterment and shall pay the seat acceptance fee through their login by online mode.

Why candidate name does not appear in provisional merit list?

Candidate shall participate in Centralized Admission Process (CAP) shall fill online application form and upload the required documents and must visit nearest authorized Facilitation Center (FC) for document verification and confirmation of application form. Those candidates who will not verify documents at FC, there name will not be display in the provisional and final merit list
